In October, KGCG proudly stands in solidarity for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Together we are stronger in the global fight against breast cancer.
The month of October is special because it is called Pink Ribbon Month, otherwise known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The color pink has long been the color of femininity, hope, and health, and the pink ribbon is understood as a victory over this disease and at the same time as a symbol of solidarity.
More than one woman probably knows that breast cancer is the most common oncological disease of women not only in Lithuania, but also in the whole world, but still, not everyone remembers how important it is to have a preventive check-up. Pink Month is a month where efforts to educate those concerned about the disease, including early identification and signs and symptoms associated.
Every year many events, campaigns, and initiatives take place around the world, not only to express support for those fighting this disease but also to remind us that breast cancer can be beaten.
To express solidarity with those affected by this disease and to remind them how important it is to have regular preventive check-ups, KGC women had a pink breakfast and made a statement of support, unity, and hope. One Friday morning, the office smelled of pastries, laughter, and meaningful, witty, and supportive conversations, while the women decked themselves out by wearing pink.
Let’s take a stand against breast cancer and let such initiatives serve as a reminder that every woman should pay attention to her health, check herself prophylactically, and encourage those around her to do the same. “You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have”,- Cayla Mills.
