Created exceptional facade constructions
Paulius Strakalaitis, Artery’s project manager at KG Constructions, says that the skyscraper stands out in the context of Lithuanian business centers not only for its famous architect’s project, but also for its unique architectural and engineering solutions. The fact that the façade of the building will be covered with glass from the outside and will not have any visible aluminum elements, which is common in other glass constructions built in Lithuania, says a lot.
Specialists working on the Burj Khalifa project contributed
KGC Group is responsible for the design, production, project management, transportation and installation of 15 459 m2 unitised structural glazing curtain walls with shadow box zones, 1 190 m2 of stick curtain walls and 1 770 m2 of glass roof.
Artery will rise to 20 floors and will have a 35 meters high atrium which will be open to the public 24/7. Panoramic windows will allow tenants to enjoy natural light and a 360-degree view of the city. The A+ building was designed to meet the “BREEAM New Construction – Excellent” certificate.
“The system used in the facades has not been used anywhere else. It is a product created by our engineers individually for this project, which will allow to implement the customer’s ideas.
KGC Switzerland’s design team, with extensive experience working with the world’s most famous architects and projects, including the world’s tallest Burj Khalifa in Dubai, The Gherkin Skyscraper in London and many others, was actively involved in the system’s development, testing, production and quality assurance processes. , – says P. Will become the accent of Vilnius urban landscape
Representative for KG Constructions added that the water and air permeability of the façade system used to build Artery had been tested at an IFT-Rosenheim-accredited center in Germany.
“Artery will enter the history of our company as the largest project implemented in Lithuania so far. We believe that there will be no bigger and more significant in our country for some time to come. It is already clear that Vilnius will have a new business card and this “crystal” will perfectly fill the empty space that opens up when looking at the Vilnius high-rise building quarter – especially from the side of Goštauto Street and the “White” Bridge. In the future, the planned buildings in this part of the city will have to be combined with the architecture and façade of Artery, so the construction of this skyscraper is a really important moment in the urban development of Vilnius, ”said L.
