Located in Aarhus Ø, Denmark, Hængslet Building will serve as a striking architectural landmark — a gateway uniting the vibrant harbor district with the heart of Aarhus. This five-story office building with a penthouse will offer panoramic views of Bassin 5, Aarhus Bay, and Nørreport, while its ground floor will host a lively market hall with local shops and cafés, surrounded by green public spaces.
KGC’s scope of work covers the design, production, and installation of the unitized timber facades, characterized by their complex curved geometry — the building has no corners, only elegant, flowing lines of curved timber and glass. Integrated steel openable windows with French balconies provide a refined, high-end look.
In collaboration with Dorte Mandrup Architects, the project sets new standards in sustainability — upcycled stone cladding from an existing building in Hannover, Germany, will be reused, reinforcing the project’s strong commitment to the circular economy.
Frame construction is already underway, and facade completion is planned for October 2026.
