The building, considered to be the pride of Stockholm, is one of the few such buildings in the world, exceptional in their design and functional parameters. The visual design of the building was created by one of the most celebrated Swedish architects Gerth Wingårdh.
Glass triangle-shaped roof elements had originally been selected to carry out the Stockholm National Museum roof renovation project. However, after sound modelling analysis, they were remade and divided into tetrahedrons. One roof element was made as a complete tetrahedron, fully prepared to be used in the construction.
These façade elements were produced in a 3D coordinate system. Two roofs, based on such technological solutions, were designed for this project. Both of them were mounted on a complex steel structure. In order to meet functional and aesthetical building requirements, the corss sections of these steel profiles were made based on mathematical algorithms.
