Part of REDI in Helsinki, the Loisto tower risen 124 meters high. Located right on REDI’s eastern tip, Loisto offers residents stunning views with unobstructed scenery in almost every direction. The landscape opens up in the south from Katajanokka to Suomenlinna and farther to the open sea. There there is 32 floors and 249 apartments in the Loisto residential tower, and the spacious apartments have a higher than usual ceiling height of almost three meters.
Interesting facts about the REDI Loisto facade:
- Shadow boxes – give the special exterior look. The cavity behind the glazing adds depth to the appearance.
- Challenging “HVAC” units with special requirements for fire resistance where pre-assembled in the factory.
- Wind load up to 3.6 kPa.
- Low iron oxide content glasses with silk-screen strips.
- At the 22nd floor, the planes of the façade change, so it was necessary to produce elements of intricate geometry in order to maintain tightness in all places of the façade.
