They give Carlsberg City Towers its appearance

2020.10.09

Carlsberg’s old factory site in Valby has for several years been under transformation into the new district, Carlsberg Byen.

The appearance of a number of the buildings, which in future will characterize the old brewery site, can largely thank people from the facade contractor KGC Denmark, the Danish branch of Lithuanian KG Construction, which produces, delivers and installs facades.

The facade company is currently active on the projects Dahlerups Tårn and Vogelius Tårn, which with 24 floors both reach 80 meters in the air. Common to the two projects of approximately 40,000 and 47,000 sq.m., respectively, is the turnkey contractor Züblin.

Well on its way and waiting for the green light

At Dahlerups Tårn, which also goes by the name BA2, KGC is well underway with a facade contract of a total of 5,600 sqm. And there – as elsewhere the company works – it happens without the use of subcontractors, says director Irma Kasetaite Vestergaard, KGC Denmark.

The actual installation began in August this year, and the first six to seven floors will be completed on the tower, where work is expected to be completed in March 2021. A total of 742 elements and 80 custom-made balconies, all produced at the company’s factory in Lithuania, will be installed. the company’s own logistics company and now stored in a warehouse in Copenhagen made available by the turnkey contractor Züblin.

In the southeastern part of Carlsberg Byen, the KGC will start the facade work on Vogelius Tower later this year, and it is expected to be completed in August 2021.

It will be a 5,700 sqm facade, where 787 elements will be installed as well as a number of custom-made balcony square meters and facade work on site.

The production of the elements was started this summer, and as soon as Züblin gives the green light, the actual work on the tower can start, it sounds from KGC.
