On the 6th of November “Cake Day” is celebrated in Lithuania. On this day, colleagues are encouraged to bake something delicious and sell a slice of the pastry to their colleagues for a voluntary contribution. Today’s tradition has been around for more than 11 years. The goal of such a tradition is to share and contribute to charitable projects.
By joining this initiatives with our subsidiary “Lignas“ , we also take part on “Cake day” campaign. Colleagues of KGCG were invited to taste some cakes and donate for “Vysniu sodas” local animal shelter.
“We are extra happy with the involvement and participation of our employees in social initiatives. Together with “Lignas” we donated 354 Eur. We had agreed with our colleagues that the company will double the employees donations, so in total we donated almost 700 Eur. For this donation, we will contribute to the welfare of the animals and buy the most necessary items for “Vysniu sodas” such as: broom‘s-sponges, cleaning‘s sponges, window‘s cleaner, paper‘s towels, canned food for cats and dogs, vitamins, medicines, treats, toys, as well as part of the money will be donated for veterinary services”, – says Linas Karžinauskas, CEO of the company.
Our ambition is not only to build, design or produce, we also want to contribute to positive solutions and create additional social value and to be responsible not only in our day-to-day operations, but also in the long run term. Living in pandemic, this pre-holiday period is even more special, because it makes us stop and think not only about ourselves but also about others.
