At KGC Group, we believe that investing in future professionals is just as important as delivering innovative facade solutions and high-quality engineering services. Our BIM Manager, Julius Zykus, recently returned to Vilniaus kolegija to meet with students and introduce them to KGC Group, our projects, design department, and career opportunities within the facade engineering and construction industry.
During the session, students gained valuable insight into how complex facade projects are developed and delivered – from the initial design stages and development of technical concepts to detailed design and the implementation of engineering solutions.
Julius also shared practical experience from KGC Group projects, highlighting real-world challenges faced by design teams and discussing how these challenges are addressed through technical expertise, collaboration, and innovative engineering solutions.
Facade Design – From Concept to Technical Solution
Modern building facades require a combination of architectural vision, engineering expertise, accurate design, and close coordination between project stakeholders. At KGC Group, our design teams work on complex facade projects where technical performance, functionality, constructability, and design quality all play an important role.
During the meeting, students had the opportunity to learn more about what facade design looks like in practice, the challenges encountered throughout the design process, and the technical knowledge and skills required to build a successful career in facade engineering and design.
BIM and Digital Facade Design
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an increasingly important part of modern construction and engineering. BIM enables project teams to manage information more effectively, coordinate different disciplines, improve design accuracy, and support more efficient project delivery.
At KGC Group, BIM and digital design technologies are an integral part of developing and coordinating complex facade projects. By sharing our experience with students, we aim to demonstrate how theoretical knowledge can be applied to real-world projects and how digital technologies are transforming the construction and facade engineering industry.
Career Opportunities in Facade Engineering and Design
Career development was also an important part of the discussion. Students learned more about the day-to-day work of KGC Group’s design department, the skills and competencies required for a career in facade engineering, and the opportunities available to young professionals entering the industry.
We believe that strong cooperation between higher education institutions and industry plays an important role in preparing the next generation of engineers and designers. Direct exposure to real projects, practical challenges, and professional environments helps students better understand the industry and prepare for their future careers.
We are particularly proud that talented specialists from Vilniaus kolegija have already joined the KGC Group team. Their success demonstrates the value of building strong and long-term connections between education and business.
KGC Group – Expertise, Innovation and the Next Generation
At KGC Group, we aim to be more than a provider of professional facade solutions. We are committed to contributing to the wider engineering and construction community by sharing our expertise, supporting young talent, and building strong relationships with educational institutions.
We would like to thank Vilniaus kolegija for the invitation and for the engaging discussion. It is always inspiring to meet future engineers, share practical experience from real facade projects, and see the curiosity, ambition, and potential of the next generation of professionals.
We look forward to continuing our cooperation with Vilniaus kolegija and creating more opportunities to connect students with the world of facade engineering, BIM, and professional design.
